The Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research, Dr. Naeem Al-Aboudi, has received the Indian ambassador in Baghdad, Mr. Prashant Besai, and they discussed scientific and academic cooperation between the two countries.

Al-Aboudi affirmed the keenness of the Ministry and its universities to enhance joint scientific understanding with the deep-rooted Indian university institutions with a global participation in international forums.

Additionally, Al-Aboudi has pointed out to the importance of developing scientific cooperation mechanisms in accordance with two-sided memorandums of understandings, especially with regard to twinning programs between universities, joint supervision and mutual scholarships.

On his part, the ambassador Mr. Prashant Besai praised the development proposals for joint cooperation and the strategy in light of what the Iraqi Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research operates. Furthermore, Mr. Besai has stressed the keenness of his country and its university institutions on cultural exchange and updating scholarship programs offered to Iraqi students
