His Excellency the President of the Republic, Dr. Abdul Latif Jamal Rashid, received today, Sunday, February 26, 2023, at the Baghdad Palace, the Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research, Dr. Naeem Al-Aboudi.

His Excellency the President of the Republic stressed the need to pay attention to the scientific aspect as the basis of society, pointing out that Iraqi universities have a good reputation and remarkable scientific sobriety, and their colleges and institutes have graduated many scientific competencies who have proven their worth inside and outside the country.

The President pointed out the importance of strengthening cooperation with international universities, colleges and research centers to benefit from their expertise, and to pay attention to the first students and provide them with support and benefit from their capabilities, stressing the need to adopt scientific standards to improve the status of private colleges.

For his part, the Minister of Education, Dr. Naeem Al-Aboudi, appreciated the directives of His Excellency the President of the Republic, and gave an explanation to His Excellency about the progress of work in the Ministry and the plans set to develop university education and raise the scientific and academic level of Iraqi universities, colleges and institutes, stressing that many Iraqi scientific journals entered Scopus.
