The College of Dentistry at the University of Karbala organized a course entitled (How Salivary pH Affects Oral Dental Health) at the educational medical clinics in the college, in which the lecturer, Dr. Shaima Fadl Mohsen, and the assistant teacher, Zainab Ali Mahdi, lectured in the presence of a group of college students from different academic levels.

The course aims to introduce attendees to the role of salivary pH in preventing tooth decay and gum infections.

The course concluded that salivary pH plays a very important role in maintaining oral and dental health, as this substance produced by the salivary glands in the mouth helps maintain an environment adverse to the growth of bacteria, which reduces the risk of tooth decay and other gum infections.
