An international academic evaluation team conducted a field visit to the Iraqi universities included in the Times World Ranking and nominated to compete in it.

The delegation, which included Mr. Nick Davis, Head of the Times Rankings for the Middle East and Africa, Dr. Talal Youssef, Dean of Higher Education and Emerging Technologies in the Queensland Government and former Vice-Chancellor of Union University Australia, Dr. Steve Hall, Dean of the Faculty of Engineering and Technology at Central Queensland Australian University, and Dr. Salih Jaafar, Head of Akademi Professor Malayasia, held Meetings with specialists at the University of Babylon, which topped the Iraqi universities in the classification of the Times, and the University of the Legacy of the Prophets.

During the meetings, the academic team clarified the evaluation criteria that are related to the context of current and expected future developments in university majors and related to governance and management, which includes academic leadership, structure, employment path, and professional accreditation requirements, as well as the effectiveness of university activities in promoting and ensuring training opportunities, student success, university enrollment trends, and management of university activities. National and international accreditation.

Academic experts discussed with the presidents and representatives of the two universities, in the presence of the President of Al Ain University, a number of axes, including international participation, education and scientific research partnerships, alumni-related activities, promotional and communication activities, scholarships and awards.

The international team, which will conduct intensive visits to a number of Iraqi universities, also discussed the importance of developing and building a university internationalization strategy in accordance with the requirements responsible for developing the Iraqi higher education environment at the international level, strengthening the field of institutional relations and joint programs with international universities and international organizations, and encouraging foreign students to study in Iraqi universities. In conjunction with the initiative of the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research to launch the Study in Iraq project.
