Assistant Professor Dr. Ali Fadel Al-Ramahi, a lecturer in the College of Dentistry / University of Karbala, participated in the membership of the Iraqi Board Discussion Committee at the College of Medicine, University of Karbala, for the student Heba Moayad Abdul-Ghani, entitled (TFF3 expression status in prostate cancer for a group of Iraqi patients).
The discussion included research on the importance of immunohistochemical expression of TFF3 factor in prostate cancer and its importance in the degree of spread and differentiation of this type of cancer and its comparison with benign tumor of the prostate gland.
The study aims to evaluate the expression of TFF3 factor in prostate cancer and benign prostatic hyperplasia and its association with histological differentiation, perineural invasion and lymphatic vessels, and some clinical variables such as age and PSA level, and confirm the importance of its use as a diagnostic marker for prostate cancer.
The study showed that the increased expression of TFF3 factor increased with the increase in the differentiation degree of prostate cancer and the level of PSA, which indicates that it can be used as a diagnostic marker for prostate cancer.
