A master’s thesis in the College of Engineering at the University of Karbala discussed the performance of sandy soil reinforced with reinforcing net (geocord) for railway roads) by the student Howaida Faez Kazem.
The thesis aims to study the effect of using reinforcing nets on strengthening and improving the dam layers below the railway track when it is replaced by weak sandy soil.
The study included a significant improvement in the physical properties of the soil as well as a decrease in the values of precipitation and stresses after the addition of Geosynthetics.
