The Minister of Higher Education, Scientific Research, Science and Technology and the Head of the Iraqi Atomic Energy Authority, Dr. Naeem Al-Aboudi, discussed at the headquarters of the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) cooperation and international partnership in the fields of specialized scientific research.
In the context of the official visit to the IAEA headquarters in the Austrian capital, Vienna, the Minister of Education met with the Deputy Director General of the International Atomic Energy Agency and the head of the Technical Cooperation Department, Mr. Hua Liu, and they discussed paths of partnership between Iraq and the IAEA in the areas of using peaceful nuclear technologies that contribute to the development of scientific research and control of some Diseases and provide a coordination environment for the adoption of regional centers for cancer treatment in cooperation with the International Atomic Energy Agency.
The Minister of Education, in the presence of Iraq’s permanent representative to the International Atomic Energy Agency, Ambassador Bakr Fattah Hussein, and a number of representatives of the relevant departments discussed with nuclear security officials in Asian and African countries support projects represented by the possibility of opening a regional center for nuclear security in Iraq.
The Iraqi delegation, headed by the Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research, Dr. Naeem Al-Aboudi, visited the International Atomic Energy Agency laboratories and reviewed the contexts of scientific understanding in order to obtain research fellowships for workers in Iraqi research centers and postgraduate students.
