The College of Administration and Economics at the University of Karbala organized a symposium on electronic extortion in cooperation with the provincial police command and in the presence of university employees.
The symposium included the definition of electronic crime and the mechanisms of precaution against electronic blackmail practiced by the weak of souls.
The symposium witnessed the implementation of some steps that raise the level of information security for users of social networking sites and provide protection for user accounts against hacking.
The symposium was attended by professors specializing in information security from the Information Technology Department of the Intelligence Agency in Karbala, as well as some representatives of civil society organizations concerned with defending women’s rights.
