The College of Engineering at the University of Karbala organized a scientific symposium on (Islamic architecture between heritage and modernity) in which the lecturer from the Omani University of Nizwa, Assistant Professor Dr. Professors and students.
The symposium included a lecture by Dr. Louay Al-Jubouri on some applied models of some mosques and castles in the Sultanate of Oman and their comparison between engineering and function in terms of designing internal and external spaces and the adoption of one color and lighting in terms of shadow and light in the architectural appearance and the treatments of architectural formation in Islamic architecture communicate with heritage, and the assistant teacher delivered Miteb Al-Saadi, a lecture on practicing the architectural profession after graduation and its importance in organizing engineering work and the need to find job opportunities in the local market within the private sector and its mechanisms by specialized engineering and consulting offices.
The symposium aims to enhance the horizons of constructive scientific cooperation between Iraqi and international universities, confirming what was stated in the joint academic and research cooperation memorandums, which is within the plan of the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research.
The President of the University of Karbala, Professor Dr. Bassem Khalil Al-Saeedi, expressed his thanks to the two lecturers and honored them with the shield of the University of Karbala, in addition to honoring the College of Engineering for them.
