Today, Wednesday, the College of Agriculture at the University of Karbala organized the Green Day Festival in its fifth edition, in the presence of the University President, Professor Dr. Bassem Khalil Al-Saidi, the First Deputy Governor of Karbala, Professor Jassim Al-Fatlawi, the administrative and scientific assistants, Professor Dr. Akram Mohsen Al-Yasiri, Professor Dr. Najm Abdul-Hussein Najm, and a number of deans of colleges and specialists. And the participation of the governorate departments, institutions and unions specialized in agricultural affairs.

In his speech, the university president said: “The university will not stop supporting the College of Agriculture and its aspirations aimed at raising the scientific level of its students and meeting the country’s need for agricultural expertise, indicating that this festival is a window through which the university looks at the surrounding community.” He revealed, Allocating 1,600 dunums for the projects of the College of Agriculture and the College of Veterinary Medicine.

The festival included the opening of a computer lab and a number of smart classrooms equipped with modern educational tools, in addition to the opening of the headquarters of the scientific journal, and the opening of a number of exhibitions organized by the college departments, which included gardening, field crops, animal production, and the food industry, and honoring a number of distinguished participants in the festival and guests of honor.

It also included exhibitions for the Karbala Agriculture Department, the Engineers Syndicate, and a number of companies specialized in the trade of agricultural materials.

The festival included a ceremony in honor of a number of orphans, as an expression of the university’s keenness to support this segment and the continuous interest in its financial and moral condition.
