Rabat: Moroccan doctors and researchers revealed their invention of a new device that helps diagnose the health status of patients by conducting an analysis of each patient’s tears.
The idea of the device is based on analyzing a sample of tears by linking it to a computer that provides the results of the analysis through which pathological conditions can be identified easily and quickly beyond the adoption of the traditional methods in use, according to the Moroccan electronic newspaper “HiPapers”.
The newspaper stated that the device was tested on a group of pathological conditions known to have been previously diagnosed, and identical results were obtained by more than 90%.
“The Moroccans are ready to present this device to the various specialized international organizations in order to ensure its effectiveness,” said Larbi Ben Jelloun, the first official responsible for the project.
The invention is the result of cooperation between a group of Moroccan doctors, mainly affiliated with the Faculty of Medicine and Pharmacy in Rabat, and graduates of informatics technologies from the Moroccan Al Akhawayn University.
