The College of Engineering at the University of Karbala discussed a master’s thesis titled (A study of traffic simulation to change a roundabout to an intersection with a traffic light).
The study presented by the researcher, Ali Fadlallah Hussein, consisted of five chapters. The first dealt with the scientific background of the subject and the importance of researching it. The second reviewed previous studies and the knowledge gaps that the research aims to fill. The third explained the research design, methods and procedures used in collecting data, while the fourth presented Data and results, while the fifth chapter is concerned with discussing the results in light of the research objectives and hypotheses put forward.
The study aims to evaluate the performance of some roundabouts in Karbala governorate in their current state, and evaluate them after converting them into signal-controlled roundabouts, as well as after converting them into signal-controlled intersections.
The study recommended the need to develop a comprehensive plan for the development of the traffic system in Karbala.
