You can buy saline solution for gargling at a pharmacy. If these solutions are not available, you can prepare the salt water solution yourself. Preparing the brine is very easy. To prepare brine, you only need water and salt. It is recommended to use boiled water that has reached room temperature. The salt used must be regular salt or sea salt. It is not recommended to use iodized, colored, scented or flavored salt. To prepare a saline solution of suitable salinity, dissolve half a medium teaspoon (two and a half grams) of salt in a cup of water. If you don’t use all of the salt water solution, pour the remaining amount into a completely clean glass jar and close it tightly. If you don’t use the rest within 24 hours, throw it away and prepare a new saline solution.
