A dissertation in the College of Administration and Economics at the University of Karbala discussed the recent trends of partnership between the public and private sectors – the experiences of selected countries with the possibility of benefiting from them in Iraq.

The study presented by the student Hassan Abdel-Amir Hassan Al-Saadi came with the aim of identifying recent trends in the field of partnership between the public and private sectors in Egypt and Saudi Arabia, with the possibility of benefiting from them in Iraq, especially in light of the similarities between the economies of the two countries and the Iraqi economy, which relies heavily on oil.
The study concluded that the partnership between the public and private sectors provides an important way to increase the volume of investments through the entry of the private sector in the implementation of projects, in addition to being an important tool in providing financial resources for the implementation of infrastructure projects and strategic projects and providing the best services at the lowest costs.
The letter recommended the need for Iraq to benefit from the experiences of the sample countries and make room for the private sector in order to contribute to the development of the Iraqi economy and increase its contribution to the gross domestic product, and the need to approve the partnership law in order to attract discreet international companies and establish partnerships with them. The research also recommended the need to make partnership an entrance Essential and a major option for achieving economic reform and a gradual transition towards a diversified economy that does not depend solely on oil.
