According to research, in most cases, protruding and irregular teeth are due to abnormalities of the bones and teeth. When protruding teeth appear in the upper or lower row of teeth, the orthodontist attributes one or more of the following three reasons to the protrusion of the tooth:

The protrusion of the bone in one of the jaws is more than the standard forward or backward position.
The jaw bone is in its correct position, but the teeth that are more prominent than their normal position.
Sometimes a patient does not have enough space in their dental arch to contain their teeth. Because of this, the teeth will press against each other and will tilt forward and outward. This condition is also called crowded teeth and can be treated with fixed braces or removable braces. The normal range for the upper teeth is 2 to 5 mm in front of the lower jaw. When this distance is more than 5 mm, the protrusion of the teeth is clear and recognizable.
