The duration of fixed orthodontic treatment is an average of two years, but due to patient deformities and the severity of the problem can increase. Patients should not eat foods that have a hard structure such as burnt rice, cabbage, olives, etc. during the treatment period. Otherwise, the bracket will be removed from the tooth, which will need to be installed with a new bracket for the patient, which can lead to a lengthening of the treatment time and damage to the tooth. During this period, the patient needs special care to prevent tooth discoloration and decay.In fixed orthodontic treatments, the tooth can be moved one millimeter per month, and it will not be obvious in the treatment.
