In addition to periodontal disease, it is now necessary to pay attention to the evolution of patient implant therapies. Dental implants have been developed in recent years thanks to its high efficacy and improving patients’ quality of life.
However, this is not the first occurrence of complications. Blastic diseases are those conditions that appear around 5-7 years after implant placement, resulting in involvement of the tissues surrounding the implant.
These can be divided into two parts, depending on their severity:
mucositis; It is the first stage of the disease, with symptoms similar to gingivitis, located around the implants. It is characterized by inflammation and hemorrhage of the gonococcal tissue.
Implant periarthritis. In a more advanced case, a disease similar to periodontitis is seen, with bone loss and more significant damage to the tissues around the implant.
