What care implants require

Immediately after the intervention to place dental implants, it is usual for the patient to feel a little discomfort or to experience local inflammation in the affected area. These symptoms, to a greater or lesser extent depending on each person, are transient and usually disappear within about a week.

After the surgery, the specialist will indicate to the patient certain care that must be followed in order for the intervention to be successful:

Take care of the diet during the first days, avoiding eating solid foods.
Avoid very hot foods.
No smoking.
Avoid physical exertion or intense exercise.
Take the prescribed medication as directed by your dentist.
Perform complete oral hygiene using products and accessories specific to the area being operated on.
Little by little, full recovery will occur after the intervention, and these recommendations can be changed to other recommendations in the long term. Each case is different, because after the placement of a fixed or removable prosthesis, the recovery of the patient will require a greater or lesser period of time.

It should also be noted that although implants have the same function and appearance as natural teeth, they require special care to reduce the appearance of complications and avoid rejection in the future.
