Instrumental surgical techniques

Gargs and Castellucci demonstrate various manual techniques on how to handle endodontic instruments. There are two slightly different anti-bending techniques: one according to the Textbook of Endodontics and the other according to Endodontics. The first technology was developed by Lin, and the other by Abu Ras, Frank and Glick.

Balanced forces technique, developed in 1985 by Rawani and Sabala, dentist places file inside root canal and rotates clockwise one quarter of a turn, into dentin, then rotates counterclockwise half or three quarter turn, with pressure in apical direction, cut off previously intertwined tissue. From the “balanced forces” two further techniques branched off: the counterforce balanced (where the GT tools are rotated first counterclockwise and then clockwise) and the gentler “feed it and pull” where the tool is rotated a quarter turn and pulled coronal after engagement, but without elongation.
