The College of Education for Human Sciences at the University of Karbala discussed a master’s thesis that dealt with the geographical factors affecting palm cultivation and production in the two farms of Fadak for the two holy shrines.
The study aims to identify the most important natural and human factors that affect the cultivation and productivity of dates, and conduct a morphological description of the two regions during the data collection process and direct the results that are invested to remove the obstacles to the production of dates.
The study concluded that the date palm is one of the most important cultivated trees whose existence is linked to originality and civilization, as it has become one of the most important economies on which many countries rely, as it can withstand harsh climatic conditions.
The study recommended the need to encourage the establishment of governmental projects similar to the two farms of Fadak for the cultivation of palm trees in the governorates of Karbala and Najaf in all governorates.
