One of the most common uses for salt water is as a sore throat. Throat pain is caused by the growth of bacteria in the environment of the throat, and gargling with salt water can eliminate these bacteria and relieve and help treat sore throat. For this purpose, it is best to gargle the saline solution in your throat for 15 to 30 seconds each time you gargle with the salt water, then spit it out and do this several times. Finally, swish the solution in your mouth and spit it out. Doing this regularly will speed up the healing of sore throat and reduce gingivitis.
