The fixed type of retainer usually consists of a thin wire located behind the lower jaw teeth or the upper front teeth. The joints in these retainers are similar to those in fixed orthodontic brackets. Because this type of wire is placed across multiple teeth, special tools must be used that do the same thing as dental floss to get into the space between the teeth.
Using these tools helps to be able to clean the space between the teeth and the wire or other teeth more thoroughly and without damaging the wire. Although this will take a little longer than a simple thread, the result will be very positive. This wire is supposed to support the correct shape of the teeth 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, so you must take care of its maintenance and do not forget that there is always the possibility of damage to the wire.
