The most important thing you should do to clean your orthodontic retainers is to clean them regularly and not let dirt build up on them, because dirt that stays on your retainers for a long time makes it difficult to clean. It is also a good idea to brush the removable retainer after each brushing to prevent bacterial plaque from forming on it. Of course, it is recommended to do this with a soft toothbrush and a mild cleanser, and avoid washing the retainers with toothpaste or a hard toothbrush.
