The University of Karbala, in cooperation with the Holy Hussain Shrine, organized a ceremony to raise the flag of Imam Hussein, peace be upon him, on the university campus, to commemorate the painful incident of Taff, in the presence of the deans of the faculties and representatives of the Hussainiya and Abbasid shrines.

The President of the University, Prof. Bassem Al-Saeedi, said: “It is a great honor for us to raise the flag of Imam Hussein (PBUH) in our university to embody the spirit of martyrdom, redemption and sacrifice, and for the lofty principles for which Imam Hussein, peace be upon him, came, and to be a beacon of heroism, martyrdom and fatherhood for what it bears.” Great symbolism and what it reflects of the values of the immortal Husseini revolution,” noting, “The revolution of Imam Hussein, peace be upon him, is a school that taught all humanity reform, justice, and faith, and it is a spiritual and moral radiation revolution that granted humanity strength, justice, reform, and equality between the spectrums of society.”

For his part, the Assistant President of the University for Administrative Affairs, Prof. Dr. Akram Al-Yasiri, stated, “The University of Karbala works every year to raise the banner of grief and patriotism for the master of the martyrs, marking the start of the holy month of Muharram, as a remembrance of the fragrant Husseini revolution and the embodiment of its immortal visions and principles,” stressing on “the inspiration of those principles and values and their embodiment in steps Consistent in academic study and scientific research, as well as urban construction, in order to produce a Husseini generation that carries all the meanings of science and sublime values.

The representative of the Husayni shrine, Eng. Wahhab Abdul-Hussain, explained: “These decrees are of great importance in spreading the Husayni cause among the various academic and scientific circles, calling on everyone to follow the path of the Imam at the pace of reform and to fight all forms of corruption and vice, and to work to do justice to the parish and reform it and restore the usurped rights.”

The ceremonies included reading verses from the Holy Qur’an and Surat Al-Fatihah, as a tribute to the martyrs of Iraq, and reciting poems that embodied the values and principles of the Husayni revolution.
