Oral and dental health begins before the first teeth erupt. Children are born with all their teeth, but since their teeth are hidden in the gums, you cannot see them. At the age of six, children’s teeth begin to emerge from the gums, but oral and dental care must begin even before the first teeth appear. Healthy teeth are the result of having healthy gums. Babies will have all of their teeth by the age of three, called primary teeth. By the age of 6, the primary teeth have fallen out as the permanent teeth begin to grow in.
