A master’s thesis in the College of Administration and Economics at the University of Karbala discussed the role of the strategic orientation in achieving organizational excellence – an analytical study in the two investment companies Areej Al-Warith and Al-Binaa Al-Markazi in Karbala. The study presented by the student, Samer Mansour Khudair, aimed to find out the interest of the researched companies in the concepts of patterns of strategic orientation and organizational superiority, and to diagnose the level and nature of the correlations between strategic orientation and organizational superiority and the influence of the independent variable dependent on the surveyed companies, while the study relied on the influence of patterns of strategic orientation in organizational excellence. The thesis concluded that there is a correlation between the independent variable and the dependent variable with its dimensions, and the existence of an influence relationship for the independent variable with the dependent variable with its dimensions. Indeed, the study proved the existence of these two relationships in a direct and significant way in the companies surveyed. The study recommended directing more attention by the senior managements of the company to the issue of the company’s strategic direction in keeping with the global market and international concerns, and providing greater effort to communicate with international organizations and associations in the areas of quality and excellence in global institutions, as it is the basic guarantee for the survival and sustainability of the company.
