The master’s thesis in the College of Science at the University of Karbala discussed the electroplating of silver, tin and manganese from ionic liquids. The study presented by the researcher, Duha Yahya Nouri, aims to conduct an electroplating of silver, tin and manganese using Ethaline 200 as a green solvent and to improve the quality of the plating by using additives. The thesis included a study of the physical properties of paint solutions such as conductivity and electrochemical properties using cyclic voltammetry, as well as a study of the effect of some inorganic substances such as boric acid H3PO3 and potassium bromide KBr on the morphology of the resulting paint. The study concluded that the use of boric acid leads to the production of a shiny tin coating and a reduction in surface roughness, as well as the possibility of producing a manganese coating on an Ethaline200 substrate using KBr as an additive. The thesis recommended studying the effect of the additives used in this study on the electroplating of other types of metals such as Co, Cr, Pb, as well as the use of other environmentally friendly ionic liquids such as Reline to precipitate the studied metals.
