For the second day in a row, the “Anmil Babylonian” charitable team continues to work in the fourth annual charity bazaar at the College of Dentistry / University of Karbala, under the supervision of the Student Activities Division and the Women’s Empowerment Unit in the college. The bazaar was opened yesterday, Tuesday, October 24, 2023, under the patronage of Mr. President. University of Karbala, the esteemed Professor Dr. Bassem Khalil Nayel, under the supervision of the Dean of the College of Dentistry, the esteemed Assistant Professor Dr. Muhannad Salah Abdel Sattar, and in the presence of a large number of professors and students. The main goal of holding this bazaar annually is to support children with cancer tumors and provide them with chemical doses.
The bazaar included multiple and varied sections that varied between artistic, literary, and scientific, in addition to an open buffet that included a variety of popular Iraqi dishes, where many diverse local products were displayed, such as fine art paintings, accessories, perfumes, gifts, an exhibition of scientific and literary books, and a special section for flowers and ornamental plants. All donations will be made. Revenues for children with cancer tumors.
During the opening of the bazaar, the President of the University praised the efforts of the Student Activities Division and the Women’s Empowerment Unit in the College of Dentistry in supporting societal issues in general, appreciating the initiative of the volunteer work team “Babylonian Fingers,” stressing the necessity of continuing such activities because of their psychological and social support for university life. In general, the Dean of the College of Dentistry, in turn, appreciated this work of a purely humanitarian nature and extended his thanks to the organizers of this charitable bazaar for the good organization, calling for care to support such activities.
The keenness to hold this bazaar annually at the College of Dentistry stems from the belief of the college and its staff in creating a spirit of cooperation and humanitarian solidarity for the students, professors and all employees of the University of Karbala and focusing their attention towards humanitarian charitable work, which enhances their initiatives towards helping and supporting groups in material and moral need and spreading the culture of joint cooperation. On the other hand, the volunteers participating in this bazaar confirmed their happiness as they carry out such volunteer work, the proceeds of which go to children with cancer tumors, and are thankful for the College of Dentistry’s interest in providing the appropriate climate that reflects the positive role towards society.
