The College of Education for Humanities at the University of Karbala discussed a doctoral thesis that dealt with identity in the poetry of pre-Islamic tribes.
The study presented by researcher Khamis Ahmed Hammadi focused on two issues. The first was to benefit from the texts that included the poetic literature of the tribes, which remained obscure for a long time. The second was based on the idea of disclosing what was included in those texts, so that it would naturally be a cultural identity at the time.
One of the objectives of the study is to reveal aspects of identity as a life theme without which life cannot exist.
Among the findings of the research is that identity is a fundamental pillar of human life, and that the multiplicity of types of identity, despite the stability of its determinants, had a prominent presence in the poetry of the pre-Islamic era.
