More than fifty public and private universities and colleges participated in this tournament. For the first time in the history of university sports activities, university professors participated in competitive teams. The Karbala University team was represented by M. M. Barakat Muhammad Ali Zaini, head of the delegation, and M. M. Diya Muhammad Mahdi, coach of the team. , where the players of the professors team were: A. Dr.. Haider Salman Mohsen, M. Dr.. Mushtaq Taleb Odeh, and M.M. Bashir Muhammad Hussein.
It is worth noting that the team of professors at the University of Karbala played five matches in which it won against the University of Diyala, the Islamic University, and the Central Technical University and reached the semi-finals, while the university team lost in an exciting and strong match in the semi-finals and won third place again.
