Assistant Professor Dr. Muhannad Salah Abdel Sattar, teaching assistant at the College of Dentistry, University of Karbala, participated in the International Unified National Conference for Colleges of Dentistry, which was held in the Beit Akito Hall in the Celebration Square in the Iraqi capital, Baghdad.
The participation included the presentation of a research paper on implanting the teeth of the front incisors to avoid the loss of bone and soft tissue in the front area of the upper jaw using the socket shield technique, as the implantation process is carried out using part of the tooth root as a support for the bone.
Practical cases were also presented about the use of this technique in dental implants without the use of artificial bone graft for the purpose of obtaining good results and an ideal view of the teeth. The research paper received a participation shield in the conference.
It is worth noting that the conference was opened by the Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research, Dr. Naeem Al-Aboudi, under the slogan “The Role of Digital and Smart Technology in Modern Dentistry,” and under the direct supervision of the Committee of Deans of Dental Colleges in Iraq, with the participation of thirteen dental colleges in Iraq, and in the presence of Forty-four international speakers from various Arab and foreign countries, with the participation of more than fifty-five research papers in various dental sciences.
