The College of Engineering at the University of Karbala organized its seventh international scientific conference with the participation of the Australian “Swinburne” University of Technology and in cooperation with the University of Warith al-Anbiya, Al-Hussein University College, and the Engineering Consulting Office at the University of Karbala.

The conference was attended by the Advisor to the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research, Professor Dr. Alaa Abdel Hussein, the President of the University of Karbala, Professor Dr. Basem Nayel Al-Saidi, and a group of deans and professors of engineering colleges in Iraq, in addition to a large number of researchers from inside and outside Iraq.

The Advisor to the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research, Professor Dr. Alaa Abdel Hussein, appreciated the efforts of the conference organizers and the participating researchers and professors, stressing that the Ministry is committed to developing a research system that will advance the work of professors and researchers and enable them to face the challenges facing society.

For his part, the President of the University of Karbala, Professor Dr. Basem Al-Saeedi, stated that the university is adopting a set of strategies that will improve its outputs, including organizing scientific conferences that provide the atmosphere for the cross-fertilization of ideas, publishing research in international databases for review and citation, and organizing workshops and seminars for students and professors.

For his part, the Dean of the College, Dr. Haider Nazim Al-Mahanna, explained that the conference comes to discuss the challenges facing society and seeks to find solutions to them through a large group of participating researches, indicating that the number of researches that obtained the approval of the scientific committee of the conference reached (95) researches, including (12) international researches. It addressed various problems that presented a challenge to society.
