The College of Science at the University of Karbala organized a training course on preparing for and responding to nuclear and radiological emergencies.
The three-day course aimed to identify the types of radiation emergencies and their effects, and to plan and respond to them.
The course included introducing participants to what radiation emergencies are, radioactive waste, the effects of radiation, symptoms of radiation injury, and how to diagnose it.
The symposium also discussed treatment of exposure to radiation and how to protect people during radiological and nuclear emergencies.
