A group of teachers at the College of Agriculture at the University of Karbala published research in the international Bulgarian Journal of Agricultural Science.

The research, which was co-written by Professor Dr. Adnan Abdel Jalil, Professor Dr. Rajaa Ghazi, and teacher Zainab Latif, was entitled “Isolation and molecular diagnosis of the fungus causing Fusarium wilt disease on the cowpea crop.”

The research aimed to identify the cause of wilt disease in the cowpea crop, which includes large areas of the fields of Karbala Governorate.

The study concluded that the cause of the wilt disease that affects the cowpea crop in Karbala Governorate is the fungus (Fusarium solani) and it was diagnosed based on its phenotypic and partial characteristics.

The Bulgarian Journal of Agricultural Sciences, published by the Bulgarian Agricultural Academy, is ranked Q3 in the global rankings, with an impact factor of 1.3 in the Scopus classification and an impact factor of 0.8 in the Clarivate classification.
