The College of Engineering at the University of Karbala, in cooperation with the Renewable Energy Subcommittee emanating from the Parliamentary Electricity and Energy Committee, organized a scientific symposium on renewable energy in Iraq.
The symposium was attended by the President of the University of Karbala, Professor Dr. Bassem Khalil Nayel Al-Saidi, his assistant for scientific affairs, Professor Dr. Najm Abdul Hussein Al-Janabi, university professors, and in the presence of the Vice Chairman of the Electricity and Energy Committee in the House of Representatives.
The symposium topics included discussing the feasibility of renewable energy in Iraq, its sources, the challenges it faces, and the law regulating it.
The University President, Professor Dr. Bassem Al-Saeedi, stated that “the symposium comes within the university’s continuous endeavor to communicate with other institutions, especially the legislative institution, while urging everyone to strive to achieve the goals for which the symposium was organized.”
For his part, Deputy Chairman of the Parliamentary Electricity and Energy Committee, Representative Hassan Al-Asadi, explained that “the symposium complements the observations made by the University of Karbala regarding renewable energy,” adding that the Parliamentary Electricity and Energy Committee in the House of Representatives is moving towards legislating the renewable energy law, pointing out that the law would fill the shortfall. of electrical energy in Iraq.
