The College of Education for Pure Sciences at the University of Karbala organized a training course on the use of the attenuated total reflection device (ATR-FTIR).
The course aimed to introduce graduate students and researchers to the attenuated total reflection device and how to read the charts provided by the device, as well as to learn about the method of diagnosing active groups in chemical compounds.
The course included topics, most notably the definition of FTIR technology and the scientific basis on which it is based.
The course reviewed the most important features of the ATR-FTIR device located in the service laboratory in the College’s Chemistry Department.
