The College of Education for Pure Sciences at the University of Karbala hosted a scientific forum on urticaria, its causes and treatment methods, with the participation of a number of college employees and teachers.
The forum aimed to explain the classification of “urticaria,” the first type of allergy caused by several factors, including seafood, grains, peanuts, cranberry fruits, and others.
The forum included learning about the “urticaria” allergy in terms of its symptoms, represented by redness and swelling of the skin, in addition to severe itching.
Participants in the forum called for attention to these issues in order to treat urticaria allergy with antihistamines, as it is a chronic condition for which medications are ineffective.
