A master’s thesis at the College of Science at the University of Karbala discussed the preparation of titanium dioxide doped with gold nanoparticles as photocatalysts.

The study was presented by the student Rasha Jamil Nehme from the Department of Physics, with the aim of preparing pure titanium and titanium inlaid with gold in different proportions.

The study concluded that the performance of gold-doped titanium as a photocatalyst for dye decomposition is better than pure titanium.

The study recommended the necessity of studying the effect of acidity and the effect of the temperature used during annealing.
