The College of Science at the University of Karbala organized a training course on the use of thin layer chromatography, with the participation of a group of students, researchers and specialists.
The course aimed to introduce participants to chromatography in a basic manner, explain the technique of thin layer chromatography and its working principle, in addition to knowing the adsorbents used in its separation method.
The course included a statement of the types of adsorbents and the particle size used in TLC in each type, as well as a statement of the mobile phase in the TLC technique and what this phase depends on, as well as a statement of the types of solvents used in this technique.
The course also included conducting a detailed outline of the general techniques in TLC, explaining how to prepare a board using this technique, and clarifying its standard conditions and the advantages it enjoys.
