The College of Education for Humanities at the University of Karbala organized a scientific workshop on globalization and its implications for development, in the presence of a number of professors and graduate students.
The workshop aimed to present the topic of globalization from a geographical perspective, and to focus on the concept of globalization and the most important negatives and positives that geography can produce.
The workshop included three axes. The first focused on explaining the concept of globalization and its economic, social, and political dimensions. The second touched on the concept of development and its dimensions, while the third discussed the repercussions of globalization on development, both positive and negative.
The lecturers called for the necessity of employing scientific research in order to provide an understanding and explanation of the characteristics of globalization, as well as the necessity of applying and focusing on sustainable development goals.
