The Training Division at the Continuing Education Center at the University of Karbala organized a training course for civil defense in the College of Dentistry in cooperation with the Civil Defense Division in the Bureau Affairs Department, noting that the target group is all college employees for the purpose of training them to deal with various fires.
The training course aims to explain how fires occur, how to act if they occur, and take appropriate safety measures as quickly as possible.
The course included an explanation of the causes of fires, as electrical contact is considered the most common, and cooking gas comes in second place. The lecturers explained that most fires are simple at the beginning of their outbreak, and that a large percentage of fires can be controlled if the correct behavior is taken during the first minutes of the fire’s outbreak, and the topics were discussed. Safety and security requirements, the most important of which is the presence of working fire extinguishers with early warning devices and smart gas and smoke sensors.
