The QS World University Rankings 2025, the global ranking of universities, announced the results of its 2025 edition, in which one thousand five hundred universities from various countries of the world competed.

The official website for the rankings (https://www.topuniversities.com/world-university-rankings?countries=iq) showed that Iraqi universities obtained competitive ranks, with the University of Baghdad ranked (801-850), then Al-Mustansiriya University (1001-1200), and the University of Baghdad. Babylon (1201-1400), the University of Basra (1201-1400), and the University of Kufa (1201-1400).

The QS classification in evaluating universities depends on the criteria of academic reputation (30%), employers (15%), the ratio of students to teachers (10%), citations (20%), international teachers (5%), international students (5%), and the International Research Network ( 5%), employment (5%) and sustainability (5%).

It is worth noting that Iraq ranked 37th in the world after 13 universities achieved competitive positions in The Times classification, while Iraqi universities and colleges recorded their increasing competition in other global classifications, including the Shanghai Global Ranking of Academic Subjects for the year 2023, in which they appeared. The University of Baghdad is included in the specialty (Dentistry & Oral Sciences), the Scimago classification, in which there are forty-seven institutions, the Greenmetric classification, in which the number of Iraqi educational institutions has increased to seventy-four universities and colleges, the RUR classification, in which there are forty-five Iraqi universities, and the Webometrics classification is added to it. ) which recorded the attendance and competition of more than a hundred Iraqi universities and colleges.
