The Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research, Dr. Naeem Al-Aboudi, affirmed the continuation of developing the engineering education environment, modernizing it, keeping pace with contemporary developments, supporting scientific research in the engineering sectors, and meeting the requirements of the growing labor market.
This came in his speech during the celebration held by the Ministry at the University of Baghdad on the occasion of the Iraqi Engineer’s Day, where the Minister of Education appreciated the tasks of this segment, which has come to play a vital role in covering urban requirements, has taken the reins in constructing infrastructure, and has worked hard to innovate technological, industrial and technical solutions.
The Minister of Education continued that the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research is taking diligent steps to develop, modernize and develop the engineering education environment, keep pace with contemporary scientific developments, and support the fields of scientific research in the engineering sectors in a way that enhances the outputs of these sectors in order to meet all the requirements of the growing labor market and work to adapt the absorptive capacities in universities. And colleges and diversifying them in a way that is compatible with distinguished international specialized forums.
The ceremony included speeches by the Director General of the Department of Construction and Projects in the Ministry and the Engineers Syndicate, a screening of a film about university projects, honoring university presidents of engineers, as well as honoring directors of reconstruction departments in university institutions.
