Assistant President of the University of Karbala for Scientific Affairs, Dr. Najm Abdul Hussein Al-Janabi, received the ministerial committee in charge of intellectual and cultural awareness to discuss developing an integrated plan related to the role of universities in educating the youth community.
Dr. Najm Abdul Hussein said that the meeting is the first at the level of Iraqi universities, and will be a real start towards expanding the horizons of community awareness in all Iraqi universities.
He stated that the launch of the work of the Ministerial Committee from the University of Karbala comes because of the religious symbolism it carries that derives its strength from the reformist renaissance of Imam Hussein, peace be upon him.
Al-Janabi stressed on working hard to come up with many courses to be applied in Iraqi universities to enhance intellectual awareness among the student segment.
He pointed out that universities and academic institutions will host similar meetings to come up with recommendations aimed at confronting intellectual and behavioral deviations.
It is noteworthy that the ministerial committee was formed under the guidance of the Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research, Dr. Naeem Al-Aboudi, with the aim of preserving prevailing social values and customs.
