A master’s thesis at the College of Law at the University of Karbala discussed the procedural defect in arbitration disputes, submitted by the student Maa Al-Ain Salem Wali.

The study aimed to define the types of defects in international arbitration procedures before arbitral institutions or bodies and the consequences of these defects in the procedures.

The study concluded that the defects in the arbitration procedures lead to the invalidation of the arbitration award or cause it to be obstructed and prolong the dispute.

The study recommended the necessity of accelerating the legislation of international commercial arbitration law in Iraq. This is to create an attractive legal environment for international economic and commercial transactions, with attention to spreading and spreading the culture of interest in arbitration among those dealing with international trade.
