The College of Education for Human Sciences at the University of Karbala discussed a master’s thesis entitled “The impact of using the problem-based education strategy on achieving and developing cognitive motivation among second-year intermediate students in social studies,” submitted by student Hammam Mosaddeq Kazar.
The study aimed to investigate the effect of using the problem-based education strategy on achieving and developing cognitive motivation among second-year intermediate students in social studies.

The study used the experimental approach with two equal groups, where the research sample was divided into two groups: an experimental group that studied according to the problem-based education strategy, and a control group that studied according to the traditional method.
The study concluded that using the problem-based education strategy significantly improved the achievement of students in the experimental group compared to students in the control group, and also led to the development of their cognitive motivation.
