The College of Veterinary Medicine at the University of Karbala discussed a master’s thesis entitled Bioremediation of Bisphenol A using different types of bacteria in contaminated soil, submitted by student Fatima Shihab Hamad.

The study aimed to isolate and characterize bacteria that degrade bisphenol in soil using modern techniques and to detect the bacterial gene responsible for this decomposition.

The study recommended a set of solutions to reduce human exposure to this substance, in addition to biodegrading this substance in nature without the use of harmful chemicals.
