The College of Dentistry, in collaboration with the other colleges of Karbala University, organized a mourning vigil this morning, Monday, September 30, 2024, in the employees’ neighborhood complex, in remembrance of Mr. Hassan Nasrallah, who answered the call of his Lord as a martyr, steadfast and proud in the face of global Zionist arrogance, defending the land of Lebanon and Palestine and their resisting people. This event was attended by several deans, faculty members, staff, and students from the colleges of Karbala University in the employees’ neighborhood complex.

Participants, after reciting Surah Al-Fatiha for his pure soul, called for an end to the criminal Zionist assault on unarmed civilians in Beirut, the southern suburbs, and the Gaza Strip, affirming that Iraq, as a state and people, will always stand by the Palestinian and Lebanese peoples.

In conclusion, everyone gathered in moments of silence and recited Al-Fatiha for the souls of the martyrs, expressing feelings of sadness and grief for the loss of a leader who fought for freedom and dignity. Mr. Hassan Nasrallah was a symbol of resilience and pride, and his martyrdom represents a great loss for the nation, yet his legacy of struggle will remain alive in the hearts of the free.

It is worth mentioning that the Prime Minister, Mr. Muhammad Shia’ al-Sudani, directed the declaration of a public mourning period across Iraq for three days in commemoration of the martyrdom of the Secretary-General of Hezbollah and his companions in the unjust Zionist aggression.
