The College of Dentistry at the University of Karbala conducted a course titled “Exploring the Micro World: Using the Light Microscope to Study and Diagnose Microorganisms” in the Medical Biology laboratory at the college, lasting three days, with lectures given by Assistant Lecturer Sultan Kareem Sultan in the presence of first-year students.
The course aimed to introduce first-year students to the types of microscopes, both electronic and light, and the principles of their physical operation, in addition to explaining the parts of the compound light microscope and the function of each part.
The course included practical training for students on how to use the light microscope, handle it, maintain it, and perform regular maintenance, as well as how to prepare and examine samples of various microorganisms and cellular tissues using the compound light microscope and how to handle, maintain, and preserve the microscope.
