The College of Dentistry at Karbala University held a course titled “Modern Methods for Bacteria Isolation and Diagnosis” in the Zahra Hall at the college, presented by Assistant Professor Dr. Ali Arkan Majhool, Assistant Professor Abbas Abdul Azim, Assistant Professor Ali Mahmoud Rishan, and Assistant Professor Sultan Karim Sultan, with the attendance of first-year students.
The course aimed to introduce students to the types of bacteria, both pathogenic and non-pathogenic, and the methods for isolating them, as well as explaining the types of culture media used in their diagnosis.
The course included an explanation of the types of culture media, methods of preparation, and how to culture bacteria on them, as well as detailing modern methods for isolating bacteria that need to be diagnosed and studied, whether traditional or modern methods, which are considered an essential part of microbiology, in addition to modern methods for diagnosing bacteria and chemical tests and their importance in identifying the type of pathogenic bacteria to determine the appropriate treatment.
